There are three pillars in sustainability: • Social Sustainability: This` pillar is concerned with ensuring that engineering projects meet the needs of the community, promote social equity, and enhance quality of life. • Economic Sustainability: This pillar is concerned with creating infrastructure that is economically viable and financially sustainable in the long term. • Environmental Sustainability: This pillar is concerned with minimizing the negative impact of engineering projects on the environment. By learning about sustainability, engineers can make informed decisions that promote environmental, social, and economic sustainability, and create a more prosperous and equitable society. The course is self-taught and self-paced, meaning you have the flexibility to learn in your time and your own pace, you can also come back to the course in the future. The course is for anyone wanting to learn about the topic, either for beginners or even those who have experience but want to fill in potential knowledge gaps, the course is especially useful for anyone preparing for the ICE or IStructE reviews as each course is aimed at the main attributes / core objectives of being a chartered engineer.
